Please note that this module is a self-learning module. Therefore there is no live workshop. This is an offer especially for international students. 

In this elective module, the goal is to identify one's own unconscious assumptions (biases) towards different students (or broader: social groups). In an academic context, "unconscious bias" can have an impact on the students' performance, assessments, evaluation processes or daily interactions. If we aren't aware of unconscious biases, they can lead to discrimination and social injustice. Therefor, the workshop will cover the following content:

• unconscious bias - basics and definitions
• types of biases (that are relevant for your tutorials)
• anti-bias and pro-diversity strategies for your job as a tutor

Elements of the module

• Self-learning module (ILIAS, in English)
• Voluntary: Participation in an in-depth workshop (in German)
• Written reflection task for your portfolio

Target group

This module is suitable for all tutors of all disciplines and may be elected as elective module 1 or 2.

Please note: As this is one of the few modules offered in English, international students will be prioritized in case the event is fully booked.
