GENERA (Gender Equality Network in the European Research Area) - EU project under Horizon 2020
GENERA aimed to foster systematic institutional and cultural change. The overall objective of the project was to implement tailored gender equality plans that are adapted to the specific framework of scientific work in physics. Developed by some of the major physics research institutions in the EU, it was a project from physics for physics.
Duration 01.09.2015 – 31.08.2018
Funding € 3,4 Mio.
OUTCOMES
KIT worked across Europe to develop measures to increase women's participation in scientific institutions. Main outcomes developed by KIT are the GENERA toolbox compiling proven measures and good practices, the GENERA roadmap providing a detailed description of the consecutive steps of how to design and implement a GEP and a report about Insights into the field of Physics – Gender and Mobility.
Furthermore the consortiums developed tailored gender equality plans for participating organizations and create a network of gender equality supporters within physics to ensure sustainability.
