Project as part of the HRK initiative for more diversity at German universities: "Introduction of diversity mainstreaming at KIT"

At KIT, we are aware of the diversity of our employees and students and actively promote it. After all, science in particular thrives on different approaches, perspectives and expertise. The concept of diversity therefore plays a central role at KIT and is already strategically and structurally anchored in various areas. The introduction of diversity mainstreaming is seen as an opportunity to utilise synergies and consolidate the idea of diversity holistically and sustainably in order to increase the effectiveness of existing measures and to further develop diversity as a cross-cutting issue throughout KIT.

To this end, funding was successfully obtained from the BMBF-supported HRK initiative "Diversity at German Universities".

Diversity mainstreaming is to be understood as an overall concept in which the diversity of KIT employees and students is recognised as an opportunity and resource at all levels. The following measures are to be implemented as support and promote cultural change at KIT:

DIVERSITY MONITORING

DIVERSITY COMPETENCES AMONG MANAGERS

DIVERSITY-SENSITIVE PROCEDURES IN ADMINISTRATION
