Topics covered include:

• Legal and procedural framework of appointment procedures (in Germany and, if relevant, other European countries)
• Structure and decision-making processes of appointment committees
• Role expectations: integration of research leadership, teaching responsibilities and institutional governance
• Strategic positioning in relation to the university’s profile and faculty priorities
• Preparation of application documents (cover letter, CV, research and teaching statements) 6)Preparation for hearings and committee interviews, including the convincing presentation of one’s academic vision and professional handling of challenging questions
• Reflection on gender and diversity dimensions within appointment procedures
• Strategic preparation of appointment negotiations
