How it works – Step by Step

Make a recommendation: Share an open position with a suitable person from your network.
Application: The recommended person applies and selects “Referral by KIT employee” as the source in the application form.
Notification: Once the new colleague starts working at KIT, they receive an email with information about the reward – and forward it to you.
Feedback:You respond with your hoodie preference (size & color) – voluntarily and confidentially. In this context, please also consult the data protection information for referring individuals.
Receive your reward: Your hoodie will be sent to you via internal mail.

Who can make referrals?

All KIT employees can refer candidates for open positions.

Which positions can be referred?

Any publicly advertised position at KIT.

How do I know if my referral was successful?

Once the referred person starts working at KIT, they will receive an email and be asked to forward it to the referring employee. The referring person can then contact PEBA voluntarily and confidentially to receive the reward.

Do I need to actively request the reward?

Yes, the reward is only issued upon request. The referring person must actively reach out at fill out the reward form on this site.

Why is the reward a hoodie?

Due to legal regulations regarding benefits, KIT cannot offer monetary rewards. Instead, a small non-cash gift – a KIT hoodie – was chosen to appreciatively recognize successful referrals.

Can I choose a different gift?

Currently, the hoodie is the designated thank-you gift. If this changes in the future, we will provide updates here.

How do I make a referral?

Referrals are made informally by sharing the job posting with suitable candidates. There is no form or official process.

What should the referred person indicate in their application?

They must select “Referral by KIT employee” as the source of their application. Otherwise, the referral cannot be tracked.

The person I referred didn’t forward the email / accidentally deleted it. How can I still get my reward?

Are personal data stored?

Only the data necessary for the reward (e.g., name of the referring person, hoodie size and color), and only if you actively participate.

How is data protection ensured?

The entire process was coordinated with the data protection officer. Personal data is only recorded for the purpose of sending the reward. No names are stored during program evaluation. You can find the data protection information for referring individuals here.

Is the program being evaluated?

Yes, each issued reward is documented to regularly evaluate and improve the program.
